    Marlin Hull Value

Thanks Seasick. That was what I was looking for. Boat has hardtop, curtains in decent shape, windlass, etc. No evidence that I could see that helm or cabin was submerged. I was thinking like you that if forward electrics were not submerged that rewiring might not be bad. Trying to figure...

    Marlin Hull Value

Just to be clear -- one of the two slings in a boat lift broke and only the engines and stern end was submerged. The bow was suspended in the remaining sling.

    Marlin Hull Value

What do you think a 2001 Marlin hull would be worth? I talked to a guy that had one that was an insurance claim -- fell out of a sling and aft end of the vessel including motors submerged. It would need new power, switches, wiring, pumps, etc. in the stern replaced. Hull needed cleaning but...

    228 Trailer

Just wondering what weight class trailer those of you with a Grady 228 are running? I have a 1995 model, hard top, 146 gal fuel, 15 hp. kicker, etc. so I'm probably as loaded as you can get for this model. Rather than repairing the old galvanized trailer which needs extensive work, I have been...

    Yami 4 stroke question

I've thought the same thing. The 225 Ocean Runner on my boat sucks some fuel compared to the four strokes. A 300 Yamaha would likely really increase both performance and fuel economy for me.

What size of Kicker Motor is needed for 22' Boat

Not greater than hull speed A kicker is not going to push the boat faster than displacement or hull speed. That is not a lot for our size boats. Maximum Hull Speed (knots) = 1.34 * Square Root (LWL) LWL: Boat Length at Water Line. Note this is not the overall length or listed model...

1995 Seafarer 228 Fuel Burn reality check

Just bought a 1995 Grady 228 (closed transom with bracket) with a 225 hp Johnson Ocean Runner (carbed) on it. I've made two typical trips offshore now in average seas and got right at 1.7 mpg both times. Just checking with the team to see if this seems reasonable or not. Boat has 146 gallons...

How much fuel should I be using?

Seems great to me I just got a 1995 228G with Hardtop and 225 Johnson Ocean Runner. I have the auxilary fuel also. I have now made two trips offshore and got about 1.7 mpg. Your fuel economy seems great and I wish I got more. I don't see how you could get over 3 with 2 strokes.
