    2017 F250 with new tach gauges ?

If swapping gauges, confirms it is a side issue and not a gauge issue, then you’ll need to understand how your Yamaha command link system is wired. It has a multihub that each motor connects to. A bus wire then transmits CAN data from both engines to another multihub at the helm. Your gauges...

Garmin GPS fuse on 25 Coastal Explorer

Garmin usually has an in-line fuse in its power supply cord, not too far from where it connects to Power. That will be there unless an outfitter substituted a fuse of similar capacity on a panel or another place.

fuel tank securing, what bolts to use?

Aluminum and stainless do not play well together. The aluminum will corrode. If you can put rubber washers or some kind of synthetic non-conductive material between the two, it will last longer. I used phenolic washers/spacers on my aluminum boat when mounting anything stainless.

    No power to onboard charger

You will most likely have an in-line switch somewhere in the vicinity of your starboard gunnel, if that’s where your shore power outlet is. It is a galvanic isolator circuit to prevent electrolysis. That switch can trip and eliminate all AC power to your vessel.

I leave my stereo on while closing up the boat. If I hear music I know the batteries are on

Recommend you look at their competitor towboat US. They are owned by Geico and Berkshire Hathaway.

    Bang Plate

Since you won’t reuse those bolts, I wouldn’t worry about snapping them off. Worst case you could strip out the nuts, but snapping them off would make it easier to get off.

2004 Grady White 33 Express Cruiser Garmin Transducer

My GT-56 UHD on the stern works great. (under$500) I do lose sidescan above 15 knots, but hold the bottom at 28 knots. Sidescan works amazing. I also have the original (2007) 1K thru hull for traditional sonar that holds the bottom at all speeds. I also have dual 1243xsv

    Outboard RPM Speed

I disagree somewhat. In the days of 2 stroke engines with carbon buildup, that was very true. Todays modern 4 strokes are very similar to automobile engines (albeit in a slightly different environment). They are clean burning, fuel injected, low emissions. In fact, some of the Honda...

    Oil pressure gauge not working.

There are two ways to get your engine data on your Garmin. One utilizes Nema, 2000 and you will need that network to connect to a multi hub from the command link or command link plus. The other is directly to a J1939 port on your MFD again with an adapter cable from the command hub to the J1939...

    Rule Pump Running

FYI some of the newer bilge pumps will run to test the water on some kind of a timer. Don’t know the details, but have heard that is the case and most people do not like that feature. ie. “Rule automatic bilge pumps have an internal computer chip to cycle pumps every 2-1/2 minutes. The pump runs...

    Speed Knob

I put one on my 330 and have had the built-in ones on other boats. The Edson knob is superior and has never come loose. Fits a variety of sizes heavy duty.

Hairline cracks in 2020 228 hardtop?

I believe those are nonstructural surface cracks caused by the welding (heat distribution impacting the anodizing). I'd call the company that built/welded the supports. Mine has very similar marks in a few places, not quite as evident as yours. My 330 was built by WMW Marine in Winterville...

    tilt trim in seastar helm

The only real issue here is seal compatibility and viscosity change with temperature. Most all modern hydraulic fluids are compatible with modern seal technology. Both the trim and tilt and steering systems are relatively low pressure and flow as compared to such things as aircraft hydraulic...
