    Wood Rot/Stingers Around Fuel Tank

The transom is fine and the rest of the boat seems solid. I noticed there is a rotten 1" compartment separator in the starboard cuddy cabin storage hatch but the rest in there seems fine. As far as the rest of the stringers, it's hard to tell but i've gone over the boat personally with a fine...

    What causes gelcoat damage?

Just got done spending 3k on a new bottom job for my 87' overnighter: started out as just having the bottom paint sanded off, they found a bunch of hairline cracks and a few chips in the gelcoat about the size of a quarter. So they had to fill in the cracks/chips and respray with gelcoat. My...

Seafarer Hull Restoration (Work In Progress)

Nice! I just spent 3k getting my bottom paint sanded off and re-gel-coated. Mine had a bunch of hairline cracks in the gelcoat as well as some actual chips about the size of a quarter, so they had to fill in all the cracks and respray with gelcoat.

    Wood Rot/Stingers Around Fuel Tank

So i have a 1987 206g overnighter and it has some rotton wood around the fuel tank under the cover. The tops of the stringers on both sides from the top to about 3" down are starting to rot and the cored fiberglass directly astern of the fuel tank is completely shot. The fuel tank is fine but...

Overnighter - NAV Light pole and Bimini help

The only time you should be using that light is if you're at anchor. Underway the only lights that should be on are your bow lights and a stern light. You can look at the rules of the road if you don't believe me.

    208 thru hull replacement

I've got the same problem, mine is the scupper by the drivers chair, the pipe that connects to the thru hull fitting so water can drain over the side has broken off so that the pipe is just dangling about .25 inch from the plastic fitting allowing water to get into the bilge...

Side window fell off (1987 overnighter) How to mount?

The side window next to the console on the stbd side fell off today, (the little triangle shape glass window with the plastic piece that pushes it open or close) the window itself is fine but i can't figure out how it mounts back in place. It looks like it slides down into that groove but to do...

Just picked up my first boat! 1987 20' overnighter

Enjoying the heck out of this boat! Grady sure knows how to build a boat! Rides like a charm and very dry. This boat feels like it has more space than my dad's 25' world cat!

Just picked up my first boat! 1987 20' overnighter

Gas tank looked good, i stuck my head down in there and couldn't smell any leaks. I expect to have to replace it eventually though. Do people normally upgrade to plastic tanks? or do you have to stick with aluminum?
