Bent crank on the starboard F200 on my 04 GW Gulfstream 232. Bummer! Anyone running the I4 Yamaha F200? Considering a repower but 4 cylinders and 200 hp don't go together in my mind. GW says it works.
Rebuild with reman parts is in the $10-14k range. Any thoughts?

The I4 is a great motor but if you are replacing one motor only, I wouldn't mix models.
I have never personally seen a bent crank on a F200. Something must has seized or let go while under power

pizza...with a beer? I have approx. 500 hours on my Yam f200 i4. Perfect fit for the Adventure 208. Not sure about your concern. Got a great price on selling my F150 so purchased the 2013 F200i4 approx. 5 years ago. Cheers, trapper

It is an ideal fit for 208s especially earlier models. If I had to repower that is the route I would take. That said, coldpizza has twin motors and I wouldn't mix models for lots of reasons.

Thanks for the feedback. I am not planning to mix motors. That's the prob. A repower vs. reman the old motor. I'm leaning toward the repower, Yamaha has a deal going. I had an Adventure 208 before I got this Gulfstream. The F200 I4 would have been a great match for it. I had a Etech 200 that was good, too.

I would get a second opinion. As beefy as those things are and with 4 main bearings, I don't see how you could possibly bend one.
