Looking at both boats (late 90s/early 2000s) as options and would like to know pros and cons of each. I’ll likely just be puttering around the Indian River but would like to have the option to head out thru Sebastian or the Port. There are a few for sale near central FL. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Sprockets is the guy to ask. He owned a 180 and a 222. Also lives in Central Florida so he knows the waters as well.

I can give you a bunch of intell on the 180 (I owned one some years ago). It's a big heavy 18' boat.

I'm currently at 180 owner...have a 2001 w/130 2stroke yamaha original engine (second owner, bought in 2012). Im available as well if you have questions.

I had a 180 w/130 Yam just like igblack87. Great boat and I miss it. I think the only difference between these two models is the obvious... size. I don't think the 209 is that much more capable than the 180, but has more room and storage. The 180 is easier to manage solo on a trailer etc as its lighter and smaller. You have to be very efficient with storage on the 180, the 209 will be a little better.

The 222 is a bigger difference to me. I never felt like I wanted the 209 when i had the 180. But at times i thought the 222 would be a nice step up.

Had a 209 with a Yam F150.

Pros: Great boat, Easy to trailer, fast, good layout, well built.
Cons: not many, maybe could've had alittle more V as she pounded alittle (not much tho)....comparing with other 19-20ftrs I've had

Would I buy again? - yes
