Hi, I am new to this board. I have been researching this forum in hope of finding someone who can tell me if the 115 hp 4 stroke is adequate for this boat. I am considering buying this model in the used market but is concern if this is sufficient power for this size Grady. I know all Gradys are heavy. I used to own a 24 Offshore. My preference is to have the 150hp but have not been able to find any on the market. Just wondering if other owners here can tell me what they think. Thank you.

I bought a used Tournament 185 (same hull I believe) last year with a 115 on it. It will go 32-33 mph wide open with a full tank of gas and 4 of us on board which is fast enough for me. That said - if I do keep the boat and eventually replace the motor I think I would go with the 150. Gordon

My 180 with a 150 will run 45-46 wide open. Optimum cruise is 32-34 as I'm barely turning 4000 rpm at that point.

I've run a 180 with a 130 and the boat topped out around 40 or so. I don't know that I would be happy with anything less than that.

The 180 is a great boat...they come on the market and don't last long....good luck in your search.

I have a 180 w/a Yam 130hp 2 stroke. great combination of power and weight. I top out at about 40-42mph, but rarely can I do that in my waters. My friend has a 150HP 4S on his, I am a bit jealous... However the weight of the 150 is considerable seeing the boat is only 18'. That said, I can't see the 115HP as being enough although I have seen a couple around. On the days when you want to run 30-35, I wouldn't want to be a WOT to do it...

I had a 115 4 stroke on my 18 and it was no good .... I did have a t-top on it but it was a poor performer.... 150 is the way to go ....
