I would think a 60” shaft would do the job and 80 pounds of thrust. I have the same boat and would like to see how one is mounted

I ended up with a lower unit mounted trolling motor. The rails and all I just decided no bow mount.
Im very glad I did.
24 volt and plenty to move my tournament at 3-4 mph.
steering wheel steers you.
Out of the water when on plane.
simple dial control on the dash.
awsome boat ramp upgrade.
I know, not programmable, graphing hummingbird tho.
But, another plus, wife and I can cocktail and putt along the shore, no noise.
my 2 cents.

Which lower unit trolling motor did you install?

Any pictures? How deep in the water are they?

Did you ever end up putting a bow mount on? I am hoping to put one on my 192 this spring.

Thanks

Yes I know, I’m still interested if anyone has set up a bow mount on a 192. I’m more interested in the possibility of doing it and anyone’s experience with installing one, a 2020 Terrova has a similar footprint as a Terrova Brushed model today I believe. The Kraken has a smaller footprint so if a Terrova works a Kraken should.

I'm trying to do it on mine as well. I haven't really been able to find anyone who has it mounted yet.

I've done it on other boats - and the process is exactly the same. Meaning, don't concern yourself with finding info from someone that has done it on a "192" - a boat is a boat is a boat as far as this is concerned.

There isn't "one" best way to do this.

You can build it out of 3/4" HDPE, but envision this and the process will make sense...

-- Take a shoe box (no lid) and turn it upside down and remove the two short ends. Place that on the boat in the position you want and cut the sides to contour to the shape of the bow deck. You can use a contour tool if needed. Screw up through the deck into the HDPE.

-- Another way is to use a flat piece of HDPE (or PVC) with spacers undereneath to make the piece flat.

Thank you for the information. I was hoping someone would post info about what models and sizes of trolling motors worked in terms of shaft length and thrust etc. I ended up getting a Garmin Kraken 75” and it seems that it’ll fit pretty well. I’m in the process of mounting it. I removed the bow light and got a Minn Kota base plate cheap online, which is intended for the quest. It’s made with 1/2” aluminum. That allowed me to mount the Garmin quick release about 3” further out in front of the bow than I could have otherwise.

Once I get it mounted I’ll post some pictures in hopes that it’ll help someone else down the road (or lake).

You should do fine with the 75" - it just needs to be comfortably below the waterline - but of course the bow may bounce around and you want it to stay below - so the extra length you have there will be good, just in case. You'll have plenty of length.

Down the road (or lake)... :)

I'd be very interested to see pictures once you have it mounted. I've mounted them on previous boats, but with the limited bow space on the 192, I'm looking for ways to mount them without moving the bow cleats or lights. I've seen a few guys that made a bracket that hangs over the side so the actual trolling motor isn't even really in the boat, which, assuming it's strong enough and through bolted, I think would be fine, but I haven't seen anyone do it on a 192 yet.
