Hi All,
I have joined here in hopes to be with a few fellow fisherman that know their gradys! I have recently bought a 1984 Tournament 197 with a newer Mercruiser 4.3 I/o. I have stepped up from a 16’ aluminum that was never going to be a Lake Ontario salmon boat no matter how hard I tried!. I have Scotty down riggers on order and a ray marine to get me going. Planning to install over the winter and be ready for the water next season. Fishing out of Wellington, Ontario.
It seems to me that the 197 is rather rare. Are there any others here? Would love any advice, tips and plain old wisdom. Love these boats, they are timeless. Can’t wait to hit some early season lake trout, walleye and salmon next year!.
