I went to fire up my motor for the season yesterday, as soon as I hooked the batteries, the oil and water alarms went off an I got a bit of smoke off the power head.

I disconnected and reconnected, no smoke and no alarms. When I turn the ignition to the on position, the oil and water alarms lite up and the beeper goes off. The engine will crank but not turnover. I am not sure what happened as I ran fine in the fall.

Over the winter I pulled an old radio out from under the dash, is it possible I knocked out am igjniton or sender wire from the harness?

Any thoughts.

Sounds like something shorted out in your ignition system. If you saw smoke right after connecting the batts and did not touch the key or have the key in the run pos when you connected them. you prob shorted something somehow. I would have it checked,
