I have a 1987 20-foot overnighter with a Mercruiser 190 with Alpha One Sterndrive. On the engine, there is an engine cutoff switch that monentarily cuts out the motor when you shift in and out of neutral. Mine has somehow got out of wack, killing the motor every time I shift. Needless to say, this makes docking not much fun. I have attempted to adjust the cable by moving the copper barrel on the shift cable mechanism, but I seem to have made it worse. Any recommendations?
