Water backing up into the cockpit when there are a couple of people in the stern of cockpit. It's always been a problem and scuppers changed every year. The engineers didn't think about that when designing the boat plus the fact that the batteries are back there with added weight.Has anyone ever had this problem or have a fix for it. I currently use exspandable plugs to stop water coming in but that's a PIA
I988 origanal owner I love this boat except that problem.

Common problem with many different boat models - especially older ones where the floor is very close to the waterline. I think the main goal was to simply have a self bailing cockpit. There's a bunch (a BUNCH) of threads on here that you can search/read, but the overall consensus is:

-- Ping pong ball scupper (may get clogged with weeds)
-- Inline one-way valve inside the scupper hose (hard to access in most cases to clear if it gets clogged)
-- Buy a newer boat
-- Wear shoes designed to get wet

I'll search for more threads and have the folks that come on the boat go on a diet including me.
