I am curious if anyone is running 4-strokes on this boat, and is it even worth thinking about repowering, offshore gave me a good chart for 225 oxss and an average of 1.6-1.7gallons per mile@ 3500-4000rpm. My sea trial is 09:00 on saturday and looking forward to riding in a grady!!!

Hi captain and good luck with the ride, I have a 98 sailfish which was repowered with yammie 4 strokes, i see 1.5 to 1.7 statute mpgs, the 2 stroke ox66 will most likely be less mpgs,

thanks for the response. I was looking at the new 4.2 liter225's but will run these till they start giving me a reason. Another question on those 2-stroke yammies- were they loud.

another thing nice about the 4strokes they are quiet!!, the 98 sailfish is the 1st year that the running surface was extended under the euro transom, this is good if you plan to repower with the 4 strokes-addded bouyancy, the 1997 and earlier have a stepped up running hull under transom.

do you trailer you boat, if so with what. I want to just get it home 45miles and 1500 gmc crew cab gvrw 8300# is this questionable verses 500.00 for the tow, I would rather put that cash into a trailer.

My '98 272 with 2250 OX 66'S Gets about that mileage now. If the 4 Strokes get about the same why switch?
