A friend of mine is looking at a 1999 Grady 180 Sportsman CC with a fiberglass hardtop and a Yamaha 150 Saltwater series. The boat has about 300 hrs on it and it comes with a trailer. Considering the boat is very clean with no issues, any idea on what would be a fair price for him to pay? Any known issues with this year? Thanks in advance to all.

There have been a couple in FL on E-Bay recently - one sold for around $11k (?) and the other didn't meet the reserve. In the NE and with the hardtop, I would guess $15k to $17k in good condition.

I'm negotiating on one of the ones that was on eBay...its a '98 though. We are close, but not quite there yet.

I think $13K-$14K is probably the range for the 99...maybe a bit less if its a carb'ed SWS, not an OX66.

It is a SWS carb'd engine. I told my friend if the boat is clean with no issues, I felt the boat is worth $12k tops. BTW what is the dif between the SWS and the OX66?

They rarely come on the market in the NE and do not last long. If you compare the Sportsman, 99 and later with the SeaV2 hull, there is nothing in its class in that size from any year. Compare it to NEW offerings from other makers and if in good condition it is a superior boat.

I wouldn't sell mine for $15K even with a 2S carbed 130HP. It is so much more boat than anything in the 18' range...

My very biased $0.02!!!

The OX66 is EFI...the regular SWS is a carb'ed motor.

The EFI motors have an extra "X" in the model number, and the manual choke override lever (on the front of the motor) is not there. (There is a black "cap" instead.
