At 3400 rpm I'm running the same speed but burning a little less. It jumps between 13.5 and 14. Around 200gals of fuel.

Yes I was putting up the high numbers, it was jumping between 14.6 and 15.5 at that RPM.

I have to be at 4000 RPM to hit 32 miles per hour with that load..... fuel burn looks correct, you maybe a little better than I am.
I forget, is your bottom painted?

I am a solid 1.6 to 1.7 mpg (not nmpg) thru 3600 rpm to 4100 with a similiar load.

I have been running my boat lite on fuel this year, maybe 60 gallons on board and have been seeing 1.7 and 1.8 mpg..... hitting 34 miles per hour at 4100 rpm with three people...

I could be a little off on the MPG. I am going to write some numbers down this weekend as those were from Mondays run and I did not write them down. The bottom is painted on my boat. I love the boat as I have learned how to run her. Catches fish as well. Drifts very good.

How are you running the boat trim wise? Tabs up and engines trimmed up? The 265 likes to run trimmed high out, use the yamaha fuel management to adjust the engine trim to get your best fuel burn. I wish I had your fuel burns, I get 1.4-1.5 usually on my 225 4strokes on the same hull, if I see 1.6 or better I am usually light on fuel or it is flat calm, 2 days ago I saw 1.8 an almost had tears of joy streaming down my face,....I was about 5/8 fuel too, but was running with the wind and tide in my favor and it was a strong tide....wish I could have that happen every trip!!!

Hello Tom! I did what you guys told me to do, I start out with trim tabs up and engines down, then I adjust the engines up first, Once I do this I (most of the time) barely use the trim tabs, very light on the trim tabs, and it works well for me. I find that the engine trim is a must and then just very light on the trim tabs works great for me. I will take and write down more numbers this weekend. I am very happy with the boat so far. And shes catches fish too!!! The Yamaha 200 HPDI's run really well and they are quiet too. So far so good. :) Thanks for everyones help over here.

I believe i do 26 knots @ 4000 rpm's, yielding about 17 gph and around 1.6-1.8 mpg. I do not recall ever seeing more than 1.8 mpg at cruise. I have seen 14-15 gph readings at some slower cruise speeds, maybe around 3500 rpm's. Top end is 44.1 mph at 5700 rpm, the boat will religiously do 42-43 mph in my cove, but i only like to do this for a few seconds.

Sounds about right. My 265 seems to run very well at anywhere from 3400 to 4300 RPM. I like to run her at about 3600 RPM. Shes fast and likes to run, also I like the big beefy bow. Very Dry ride. The boat seems bigger then she really is.

Update on fuel burn - took the boat out last night after dinner. Me, 3/4 full fuel, 2 kids, left wife to clean up dinner. 3800 rpm's, 25 knots (28.75 mph ?), 15 gph, 1.8-1.9 mpg. It was flat, with a little wind, I was happy with those numbers. We also caught 2, 3-4lb. blue fish in the bay, kids were happy.

265 Fuel economy

I am considering stepping up to a 265, and curious if you guys think that the HPDIs are a better fit for this model that the twin 225 four strokes? What esle would you say about the 265? Would you buy the same model again?
