Hey guys.
Quick question.
Does anyone know what the USCG person or weight limits are on a 2000 300 Marlin?
Checked the online owners manual cant find it.
In the process of buying one so this is just for my own general knowledge.

Boats larger than 20 feet do not have nor require capacity plates. US Coast Guard only requires and calculates capacities on smaller vessels. Your marlin does not have that requirement.
 
as many as you can fit comfortably in the cockpit and helm for cruising!

Are you sure its 20? I know there is a size that no longer has passenger limits. Theres a tag in my seafarer. that says 8 people, the newer seafarer is 10 in the brochure...certainly longer than 20 feet.

Good question! My quick research showed that the code was 20, but I too am aware of vessels over 20 that have a capacity plate. It could be manufacturers can certify over 20. Don’t remember seeing any over 26. Prior to my looking into it I thought the limit was 26 feet, But I couldn’t find any reference to that with my quick look.
 
After further research, I found that boats up to 26 feet, although not required by law, may have maximum capacity labels but they are not technically certified by the US Coast Guard. Boats 20 feet and smaller must have US Coast Guard certified capacity labels. 27 year Coast Guard veteran, but my specialty was not in marine inspection .
 
I have a 2007 Marlin and it does not have a max capacity sticker on it. You must however have all the required safety equipment for the boat and life vests that fit all persons on board, plus a throw cushion or ring.
