Hi all,

I'm an aussie, but worked in Charlotte, NC for about a year where I met and fell in love with the GW.

This year I imported a second hand 2001 228 with hardtop and 200hp HPDI from NC and have been really enjoying it.

It was really hard work importing the boat, lots of late nights and early mornings, and a great deal of risk. Luckily it all turned out OK.

Here's a couple of photos.

The parcel arrives!!

Happy days - what's under the wrapping paper??

I get some friends around, and we install the hardtop (after taking some advice from this forum!)

Our first trip in Bantry Bay, Sydney Harbour here. Time to celebrate!

We're going away on holiday, the 228 is taking us there as its boat access only. Our destination is Milsons Passage on the glorious Hawkesbury River, just north of Sydney. Here

Hooked up at the North Head of Sydney Harbour. Luckily our Grady has a walkaround deck

Great pictures. Looks like you've already had a lot of fun on your new boat. I know you'll enjoy it.

Great pics, great boat.

Pulled into Sydney back in the early 80's aboard a large grey boat. U.S. Navy, AD 14 U.S.S. Dixie.

Enjoy the boat! :D

Nice pix. Enjoy the Grady. Its a great boat.

What a neat story, enjoyed it thoroughly.

I've added a trip to Australia to my 'bucket list'.

Outstanding!

The water in fron of the Opera House looks pretty blue. It didn't look that good in Finding Nemo!?

Nice looking boat and looks like you're enjoying the heck out of it. That's great.

Thanks for the replies and well wishes - I'm extremely happy with the 228.

We've had her in for a detail as she had a close call with a fire! Yikes!! Luckily there was no damage at all to our boat, but the ash from the blaze and rain made the deck a little grubby. Check out this footage and my Grady in the background.

I loved seeing a North Carolina registration on a boat in Australia!

Congratulations.

Wow that looks like lots of fun Chris. As you say it is very risky importing them yourself.......but by the look of those pics there isn't any regrets.
lokk me up if you are in NQ. We can do some Gradying in the Coral sea.
