Innovative design. I like that the cushion can come off. Nice job on the pipes too.

I have always wanted to do this as well but the bases are key. Maybe a photo will be uploaded?

After many years of reading THT, I only now found these threads on the GW 265. So glad I found this seat backrest modification. I’ve been considering for a few years and couldn’t figure out if I could do it without regrets. The wife hates siding sideways when she comes out with me!

Mine is a 2000 in Key Largo, Florida. I am its 3rd owner and have redone the boat entirely. All new electrical, electronics and brand new repower in 2015 with Yamaha 250 four strokes. Ran into some life difficulties when my parents got older and ill before passing away a few years ago. So the boat was hardly used for a while. Engines have less than 15 hours still. Just did all maintenance on them just for the heck of it.

previous owner had it bottom painted and I m seriously considering removing it and repainting the hill. There is a guy in South Florida who does amazing work- including for local boat manufacturers. I’m also redoing the isinglass, since mine had run their course and were pretty beat up.

Anyhow, I hope guys are still following this thread in these older great boats. Glad I found this finally. Would love to add those seat backrests soon!
