Is it worth putting a second engine (2hp maybe) on my 209? Just don't like the thought of that 200hp not working one day with nothing else but a paddle to get back.
Any other recommended options that my not cost as much.

unless you are on a mirror like lake, a 2 HP motor isn't going to do anything. Even a bigger kicker won't help if you are out in anything but calm seas with little or no wind (well maybe if the wind is astern).
The 'paddle' isn't going to do much either:)
As to ow cost options: A good anchor, radio and towing insurance.

We are on the Rappahanock River and it does get pretty rough out there often and I wasn't sure if a 2hp motor would even begin to push around my boat or not.
I guess its good that I don't normally stray to far since most of the good fishing that I know about is within a 5-15 minute boat ride from the marina .
Thank you for your comments.

I put on a Yamaha T8 High thrust power tilt and trim for salmon trolling.

It'll get me home unless I get caught in 4-5' on Lake Huron.
