Not sure if there are any threads on this yet but was curious if anyone has removed the bow pulpit on a 2004 283 Release and replaced it with something shorter? I want to keep the windlass but want to put a shorter pulpit. Would to convert to the though the hull windlass but I’m sure that’s big money. Any ideas

There are lots of threads on pulpit repairs. You can likely make a mold and fabricate it how you want it.
@seasick shared some vids recently

If you install a shorter pulpit, would the anchor now hit the bow keel?

And... what exactly are you trying to say here? Ever heard of proof reading before clicking submit? :)

Not sure what you are trying to accomplish. How much shorter?

I just installed a Five Ocean's pivoting anchor roller on my 268 Islander. I cut a slot about 3" x 3" out of the pulpit so the roller could be set back. I then did the glass work to repair it. Waiting on paint now. My pulpit is cored with some pourable filler - no wood. It's rock hard but can be cut and sanded.
