Hello GreatGrady folks, as a "heads up" I'll be selling my clean and solid seasonal-use 2004 GW Islander 270 near month end. It is in great used, well-kept condition with new (installed 1/25/24) twin Suzuki DF200AP fly by wire, controls & gauges w/47 hrs. and factory warranty through 1/29. New Seastar tilt helm hydraulics steering system installed during repower. After 45 years of fishing boat ownership, with about a dozen different boats including Whalers, Sea Ox, Mako, Pursuit and others, I'll be graduating to a more extended-family and young grandchild-friendly Tritoon. I am just not using it enough, my body is not as forgiving as it once was and I have buddies with fishing boats that need occasional crew. I am the 3rd owner and I have some knowledge of its history since it was commissioned in 2004. It was always marina-kept and seasonally used in the Northeast since new and before I purchased it in the Fall of 2020. Originally it was sold, serviced and maintained by GW Dealer/Marina Port of Egypt Marine on E. Long Island, NY where it lived through 2016 (12 yrs. & 965 hrs. use). They are reportedly the oldest GW dealer in NY and the world. The 2nd owner was an older (than me) gentleman from LI, NY who kept it at Crow's Nest marina on S. LI before he relocated to FL (5 yrs. & 275 hrs. use) and sold to me (w/1240 hrs.). I've used it for 4 seasons and 202 hrs. Total hours on boat are right at 1442 hrs. (1395 old power & 47 new power) and avg. about 72 hrs. a year usage over it's life. Boat has always been stored undercover off-season. Either indoors, shrink-wrapped or sunbrella and it shows. Bottom was soda-blasted and barrier coated in 2018. Bottom just painted this month.

This Islander is loaded with just about every factory option. It is equipped for fishing inshore, offshore or just cruising. Late Oct. last year before pulling it for season, I ran to the Wilmington Canyon out of Indian River Inlet 90+ miles each way to load up on Tile & Mahi. Long ride for sure, but it ran great. It comes with a full cushion and enclosure set, my custom sunbrella winter cover and many other owner upgrades. It was originally rigged with twin Yamaha F150s prior to my repower last year. Fuel capacity is 200 gallons with 150 main and 50 auxiliary tanks. New Furuno TZT3 12" MFD electronics w/DRS4D-NXT radar, B175HW Chirp thru-hull transducer, SCX20 Satellite Compass added in 2021. Additionally, there is a Garmin 741XS MFD with GT23M-TM transducer and Icom 502 VHF. It is equipped with Taco Grand Slam 15' retractable outriggers and 15 rod holders. It has AC shore power with multiple GFI outlets, 3 group 27 Deka batteries, Guest 30 Amp 3 bank charger, remote control, spotlight, LED deck and port/stbd. spreader lights, newer (2022) Kenwood BT stereo & 4 speakers, and 3 USB receptacle charger ports. I have most manuals for boat and major systems/electronics (GW owner manual & 2004 sales brochure, engine, electronics etc.). I have most service records from 2nd owner/Crow's Nest marina. I called Port of Egypt marine and they only had digital records beginning in 2016.

Boat can be sold with or without trailer, but boat will be sold 1st before trailer would be available. Trailer is 2016 Load Rite Elite model LR-AB26T7300102LTB2, a 8760 lb. GVW aluminum bunk trailer with less that 1200 total miles. I purchased trailer locally used in late 2020 when new factory trailers had really long lead times during Covid. I rebuilt/overbuilt trailer in 2021 with new all stainless Kodiak brakes on both of the 6000 lb. torsion axles. I added additional custom stainless u-bolts to both axles (4 each) for increased support. I replaced most trailer hardware and all u-bolts with stainless and added Duralac corrosion preventive jointing compound to hardware. New wood bunks were covered with fire hose & then king starboard slides on top. New 6 lug galvanized hubs w/bearings were installed. The original tires were replaced with Goodyear Endurance E rated 225/75R15 tires and spare. It is well-equipped to handle the boat and it tows great. Of the estimated 1200 total miles since new in 2016, I have only towed the trailer <250 total miles since rebuild. My seasonal slip & ramp were close to my home here at the DE beach.

I realize that I am getting out ahead of myself with the timing of this premarket sale info. and this reads like an epistle.... However, I wanted to tee this up to the GreatGrady community 1st prior to marketing on various other medias later this month. Even though I don't post much. GreatGrady has been fantastic, it's always been an enjoyable, friendly read and great learning experience/resource with many knowledgeable members. I am a couple of weeks out until the boat is ready, it needs detail and some other minor work, along with a new windlass install prior to sale. No plans to list with broker and boat will be "for sale and not on sale". Please be patient for responses if you DM me. My focus now is getting the boat ready for sale and worry-free, immediate use for the next owner. I also have a current business venture that has been taking much of my time. Attached are some recent pics, with more detail and pics forthcoming when boat is market ready. I understand the fair and reasonable interest in knowing how much $? I'm comfortable at this point sharing a budgetary amount for the boat in the high $70s. Trailer would be an additional cost. Boat is located at the S. DE Beach. Thanks for your time and interest. Best, Jim (Fitzman)
