I recently changed the "park" position on my port windshield wiper to be at the outer most port(as it should be)--it had pointed to starboard when turned off. Now both wipers go 'in', and turned off (park) on the outsides. Why, or how, it got like this I don't know. I'm assuming at some point the port motor burned out and was replaced, and the park setting was never adjusted correctly.
Now, I have noticed that when I turn the wipers to the lower "ON" in the ON-OFF-ON switch, only the starboard wiper moves. But really, it may have been like this all the time; I don't remember. They both move and park correctly when turned to the upper ON position. After investigating pretty throughly, I don't know why it even has an "ON-OFF-ON"switch; its only a one speed motor. I can't find another like them (they are an AFI MRV)but both are the same, and only have two poles--park, and on. Ground is to the motor bracket.
The wipers work, and I'm not sure I even need two speeds. My question is what does the lower "ON" on your wiper switch do?
