So I filled my Grady for first time today and was surprised it only took 140 gallons, gas gauge was reading like 20 percent. I also only have one fuel filler. Is it possible to have only 160 gallon tank? I thought 207 was standard?

Hi Iceman - My 2003 282 Sailfish had 2 tanks, a 150 and a 70g.

Well I looked and I have 2 gas tanks but one filler cap, how do you fill the second one or know that it is full?

Of course, my first thought was that you had more gas than you thought. What did you use to determine that you had 20% left.
Gauges are inaccurate by nature. In addition the sender determines what it thinks is zero (empty) and that reading of the sender will not take into account gas that sits below the lowest sender level

My 2006 sailfish has the 207 gallon tank. When my gauge reads 1 bar, I still have about 50 gallons left.

It's hard to determine the level just by the bars displayed since a bar represents a range. Knowing what the level is when the number of bars change ( or when one bar STARTS to flash) can help but who looks at the gauge all day?. In addition, the angle of the hull affects the reading greatly in some cases. On my 208, one bar when it has just changed form 2 bars, can mean I still have 30 gallons of a 82 gal tank.
Getting on plane with an extra passenger, that one bar sometimes may increase to 4 bars.
I play it safe. If at rest at the dock, I have only one bar, I gas up.
I can't tell you how much gas it takes to fill based on the number of bars displayed. In 13 years of operating this boat, I can't remember ever filling the tank till the nozzle tripped:)

Thanks for the replies, I had 60-70 percent showing with bars and it took a 100 gallons the other day, so I am sure I am at 207 which is standard
