I just bought this boat and it appears the access panel gaskets were shot which allowed water to leak and sit on top of the fuel tanks. There are several small holes on the tanks just in the area that is visible. I plan to take up the deck and install two new fuel tanks.

From the research I have done it appears that the aft (auxiliary) tank will come out easily if we remove the deck but a bit of the main tank is tucked under the console. This seems like the point where the job gets tricky. I saw someone else online cut the main tank in order to remove it.

Can anybody offer up some tips and advice who has done this job?

seems a bit premature for a tank replacement. The deck is sealed with silicone and usually not taken up much. I'm surprised. Good luck with the replacement.
