I just repowered my 05 330 w 300 zukes , I like them 42k compared to 57k on yammys
Hey there,
Was wondering what props you were swinging? Did you go 3 or 4 blade? I have the same set up with 3 blade and it seems to slip a little and has a problem getting up on plane with the currents up here in NJ

I’m running the DF250AP’s on my 330 and the 4 Blade PowerTech props made all the difference in the world. I’m running 16x16’s. I would think you would be 4 Blade 16x18’s. Call PowerTech and ask for Marcus. He will tell you which props you need. Tell him Russ from Shurflo Pumps sent you.

Hi Guys, been through 4 sets props, these worked for me, full fuel , Power Tech- OFS -15 1/4 diameter -16 pitch - 4000RPM -25.6 kts-29.4 MPH -4200 RPM 26.7 kts- 30.7 MPH ---4600RPM -30.3kts fuel burn average 1.1 --to 1.2 , was not happy with performance when I first got her , I down sized from flybridge sportfish, and having a 32 Regulator up north, I love the boat since going to 4 blades. These numbers are from running inside, in ocean running against current and wind will be different also docking is a breeze rarely use bow thruster, 33 GRADY 330 express 2006- 300hp YAMAHA 2012,

Hi everyone

I just repowered my 2001 sailfish to twin Suzuki 250’s the dealer recommended the 3x16x21.5 props
After the 8 hour breakin I tried to take them to WOT but they wouldn’t get over 5000 Rpms I’m sure I’m overpropped
Was think to go 3x16x18.5 ??
Any recommendations?
Thanks

Repowered my 05 330 with the 300 Zukes this past spring, love them! I am working on what's the best 4 blade props to turn with these motors. Suzuki doesn't have a 4 blade prop that fits. If anyone has found a good match for these motors and hull, I'd love any feed back. Here in the NY bight (Sandy Hook)we have some crazy currents that cause the boat to struggle to get on plane. I'm lucky to have a dealer 15 min from my marina, great guy and very knowledgeable. I average about 1.1 MPG @ 4800 doing 28-29 knots.

These are my numbers with 310 gal of fuel and 40 gal of water onboard with the 4.0 liter DF250AP Zukies. They are identical to the 300’s accept for computer flashing. I run PowerTech 4 blade 16x16’s. They are way superior to the Suzuki props. 300’s would probably be 16x 18’s. I’m getting 1.25 mpg at 27.5 mph full of fuel. At half tank, I’m doing 29.5 mph. Mybest numbers are at 4550 rpm. My wide open throttle is 6100rpm at 1/3 trimmed up. Running 38.5mph .View attachment 17103

Interesting. I have DF300AP's on order, Power Tech is recommending 16x14's, as the DF300's are 6300 RPM motors. I would need to hit 42-43 MPH to reach that RPM. I'm thinking maybe starting with the 16x16's, if your getting 6100 I should be able to get 6300...?

So hard to choose, thanks for all the details you have posted!

I would get the 4x16x17’s If I had it to do over. I hit the rev limiter at 6100 at Wide Open Throttle and Trimmed up 30%.
I’m thinking the 17’s would raise my cruise speed to 29 to 30 mph? Although, I’m getting phenomenal fuel economy which I don’t want to loose.
You don’t want to go below 16’s. There Is no way. I’ll make you a deal. Buy the 17’s, and if you don’t like them. I’ll swap with you. I’ll throw in $300 since mine are like new used.

Saw this post just after starting a conversation with you - I haven't done the conversation thing before so not sure how it works. I have 250's on order for my 2002 330 & wanted to know if you were still running the 16x16's. Do you think starting with the 17's & comparing the performance to your 16's would make sense?

If you are going to run heavy. Fuel, water, ice, tackle, crew, etc. 16’s. I would start with the 4 blade 16x17’s Because I can hit the rev limiter at 35% trimmed up Wide open throttle. Please let me know how you make out. I may order a set of 17’s.

Got my boat back Friday with 250’s but the Suzuki props it came with are 3x16x18.5 can’t get above 3000 rpm without cavitation they have 3x16x17 in transit & I know you had cavitation issues with those props. Dealer is insisting on Suzuki props because that’s what was included in package price. This morning they said if 3x16x17 still cavitates they will contact PowerTech - I am going with PowerTech 4x16x17 anyway but it would be nice if they paid for the props

Suzuki makes 4 blade props. I had to pay Suzuki dealer an upcharge about $150 a piece for them after 3 blade just didn't work to my satisfaction.
Different motors.... I have DF200s with 4 x 15.25 x 22.. Love the 4 blades.

I am still running the 16x16’s. I spent a pile on a bow thruster, so I haven’t plunked down for the props yet. I’m still hitting the rev limiter, so my guess is the 17’s might be the way to go.

yep I'm just pointing out that his dealer can get Suzuki 4 blades and he would just pay the difference. I know different boat and motors but Suzuki started me with 3x16x18.5. That seems to be Suzuki's starting point. When we went to 4 blades on my 265 they went down in diameter and up in pitch. The Powertech OSF4 would have been the next step if the Suzuki 4 blades didn't work out.

Yeah, I’ve got the Powertechs. They solved my problem of blowing out and cavitation. My boat came with 17” 3 blade Suzuki props. I bent one bringing the boat home. I was able to straighten it on the bank of the Okeechobee canal With a pipe wrench and a hammer. The metal was ridiculously soft.

Suzuki does not have a small enough pitch that will work with the heavy 330. The smallest pitch is 20, the 330 needs a pitch of 16 or 17 with the DF250AP/DF300AP engines:
