I've a GW 2007 Tournament 225. the scupper flaps are gone, and I see the replacement kits which are straightforward. However the screws holding them in are stripped/corroded and I dont want to bite into the threads. Anyone have experience removing these screws without damaging threads? picture enclosed. I did try the bit for reversing stripped head screws, but it just literlly drilled it out

Can be very difficult to remove but you may have luck by removing the piece of the flap that is still there, spray a penetrant several times on the screw and try a vicegrip on the screw. You may be able to use a dremel and a cutting disk to clean up or make a new slot for a screwdriver. The screw may break off in which case you will have to carefully drill the screw out.
