Has anyone redone the upholstery on their 226 or similar boat? I need to replace the four aft seat cushions and I'm wondering if I should go with the standard set up or replace the two stern backrests or do a wraparound bolster for the sides and onto the backrests. I'm not sure if that would be too snug of a bit for the stern seats.

Does anyone know if the newer model helm seats will fit on a 1990's 226 or would they be too wide? The cockpit is already cramped but if I'm redoing the seats I'd rather have the newer style seats than the plastic shells & cushions that I have now.

Any helps, pictures, and suggestions would be welcome.

Oh yeah they would. I have the deluxe helm seats and you would need to be VERY thin to squeeze between them, especially if the boat is rockin' in seas. I removed the inboard armrests on both seats and now they are fine.

I concur completely with B8CASTR. I have also removed my inboard armrests from the deluxe helm seats as it was a tight squeeze and the armrests had a penchant of snagging tshirts.
