Can anyone give me advice on how to run a new wire from switch panel to anchor light on my 2003 Grady white seafarer 226. The anchor light is mounted center on top of the windshield. The wires run through the windshield frame. Is it necessary to take the entire windshield apart?

pics would help.

do you already have an old wire that you can use to pull thorugh?

If the wire is not broken and you have a little of it exposed spllce, solder and shrink a new wire on. Crimps are too bulky.

My best advice is not to try to pull thru a new wire. If you must run a new wire I would take the windshield apart. But be careful - parts for your windshield are no longer available.

At the light mount the wire is very short making it impossible to connect new wire for a new light. At the switch end the wire does not pull as if it is secured in place inside the windshield frame. I can find and trace the wire run but can not pull it through windshield frame. I was wondering if someone knew a trick or different path to route the wire.

Difficult to splice or impossible to splice? There is a difference. How about a pic?

I doubt you will find a "trick" way to replace that wire internally. Trace it from the switch to the windshield. Cut any tie wraps. Try to feed some slack to the windshield and see if you can gently pull more out at the light location.
