228 gas filling problem?

My 228 is 6 years old, it's a 2020, so perhaps it's time for some problems. Here is a little annoyance.

Lately, when I go to fill the gas tank, the nozzle clicks off way too soon. I did this yesterday, put 55 gallons in to fill the 114 gallon tank, and it clicked off every 5-10 seconds. If I pushed it full blast, it would "burp" gas back up the fill channel.

Other info: when the boat was new, it took gas just fine. The crappy fill started after 3-4 years. I always fill at the same shell station so it is not a matter of different pumps filling at different speeds. It's definitely my boat, my buddy fills his Canyon 271 there all the time and it works just fine for him.

I took the breather cap off to see if that was clogged, it was perfect. While I had it off, I took the fill cap off, put my mouth over the breather hole and blew. I could hear bubbles in the gas tank and it wasn't hard to blow.

Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?

My buddy who has a 1999 228 says I have an anti spit back system. Anyone know what that is and how to maintain it?

It could be something as simple as the way your boat is sitting on the trailer

Your boat may have a vapor recovery cartridge and/or a backflow check valve, The vapor recovery canister can fill with liquid gasoline. The check valve if present may be clogged. You might try contacting Grady support to see if they can advise
You might have a blockage in the fill line but is you do, I would expect the problem to occure all the time when filling and noy just after a certain level is reached.
