Looking to buy a 257 does it have a better ride then the 232

Went from a 232 to a Marlin. It works better for our family(5 people) mainly fishing in the forty to sixty range. It would depend on your personal needs for the boat which is better. Two feet in length does not seem enough of a difference to change the ride of the boat to me. I had no complaints with the 232 other than fuel capacity.

I had the 232 looking to get a cc and a better ride, but i dont want to go to big.

I went from a Seafarer 22 to a Gulfstream 232. The ride of the 232 was noticeably better.

I have ridden on a friend's 258 Journey and the ride seems a little better than my 232. I believe the narrower 8' 6" beam of the Journey helps in a head or quartering sea. The 232 is 9" 3', remember, so it's wide for it's length, therefore has a wider "footprint" and pounds a little more than the 258.

If you don't want to make a significant jump, the ride difference you'll achieve will be noticeable, maybe but not nite and day. The heavier and bigger, the better.

When making the buying decision, we rode the 232 and 258 side-by-side. Our experience was just as what Magicalbill writes.
