We have a 2018 255 Freedom and when we fill it up with fuel we get a gas fumes in the bilge.
Any one have an issue with this ?

Which bilge? Aft or are you pulling fuel tank cover plate?

Start with the owners manual. Available on GW site. If the 2018 manual doesn't have one go back a few years and check. Not likely it changed much.

Could be one of the hoses. Fuel fill or vent. Wrap some paper towels around them and tape them. When you fill up next time see if anything is wet.

All boats have basically the same fuel system when you break it down. You need to pull the hatch that's over the tank and start by inspecting the tank, lines, etc. Also the fill/vent line and the fuel line to the motor.

You won't (shouldn't if you comfortable very basic plumbing... it's just tracing hoses) need a schematic - it's all really pretty self explanaotry and simple.

Those are your first steps - and this should be high priority before you operate the boat again.

Just interested in if the fuel fill was silicone down, could be getting in from there when putting hot Fuel in a cold tank it tends to gurgle out . This is a 2018 boat.
There is a Vent fitting on the hull with an allen screw? Anyone know if i could remove it to Check out.
Does Grady White Boats Vent thru the Fuel cap or just thru the hull Vent ?

Some of the newer vapor canister systems are a bit complex and difficult to troubleshoot, especially the gurgling gas during filling issue,

Can you rexplain your first sentence - I really don't know what you're trying to say there.

Yes, the vent plug comes out - but I don't understand why you're thinking of looking at that.

Hull vs fill cap... depends. Take a look at your cap to answer that.

In the end... you need to pull the floor hatch that's over the tank... but I think I already mentioned that :) The rest of what we just talked about doesn't really apply to the situation.

I'm sorry but so many of the recent posts are looking phony. AI is invading this site. AI is training off GW.

OK, let me try to re-explain when topping off the tank and it gurgle out the top of the deck fill. you smell gas down in the bilge but when you just put in 20 gallons, you have no smell in the bilge. All hoses on all fittings are dry and tight. from what I know about gas u don’t need much to have an aroma and it also evaporates very quickly.
Could it be leaking under the hull deck fill?

Yes - but it could still be leaking anywhere else.

Does your boat have a carbon cannister? I think it does, correct? I would assume you know yes/no... but topping off is a terrible idea with a carbon canister - you're ruining it and likely plugging it where it will totally clog up and cause your engine to starve for fuel.
