257 Advance- Under Gunnel Lights

Sirs,

Does or has anyone changed out the bulbs in the existing light under the gunnel to LED bulbs??

I would like to change the bulbs to LED( blue) with out changing the fixture.

i had a 247 advance same as the 257 i changed the lights but was un able to find a fixture to match. i made some new mounting plates by just cutting out some plexi glass it was real easy and worked great.

Get some blue LED rope lights, dirt cheap, tie into same circuit.

I bonded $10 blue LED strips I found on ebay to a small piece of fiberglass and used screws to attach under the gunnel. So simple - even an engineer can do it. :D

Some rope lights come with a "flange" that allows you easily mount the by simply drilling through the flange about every 8" or so and securing with 1/2" #8 panheads. The ones that are circular with no flange, use the appropriate sized nylon cable clamps and secure that way...
