Just replaced the 4 scupper hoses on a 2003 270 islander. All 4 were in very bad shape but 1 was totally cracked n leaking. Starboard side I cut access hole on the horizontal where the transom step is. Port side pulled out battery switches. Just thought I would share my experience took bought 6 hours. Anyone with boats that old should definitely check there’s it could save ya.

I'm a bit surprised they were in that bad of shape for a 2003 hull.
Good thing you were on it, and thanks for sharing.
Safety afloat co1063!

I was surprised as well. Luckily I noticed the sound of water dripping when I was changing my batteries because you can’t see any of the hoses.

They are known to dry rot. I'm dreading that I have do that job in a couple of years.

I am replacing mine now as well but I am doing the drains and thru hull scuppers as well

I will have to take a better look at mine. You would think that these hoses would last the life of the boat. They are not exposed to sunlight, they are usually empty, and they are not under pressure.

Can you link the ones you got so we can get an idea of the cost, pls?

Thanks!
