i don't know about the 272, but on my 2002 gulfstream i had a garmin 2010c and ray c80 mounted at the helm. i used ram mounts on both. the garmin had the ram ball mounted in the helm box with a short arm attached to the bailmount. that put the unit right in front of the driver. the box doors stayed open, but the top one was down level with the top of the box. the mfd did not come out past the edge of the door.
the c80 was articulated with two short arms off the port side of the lower box. it "rested" on the dash right above the gauges.
i had clear sight over the units while sitting at the helm. and obviously very good view and access to operate them. you should look into the ram mounts - they have many solutions. ron
