what do you think guys,

i want to buy a 280 marlin, and change the outboards to a 2005 F250 so i think, $25,000 for the 280 marlin then another $8,000 for the motors, i dont know how much will it be for the installation, can any one help with this?

also i will need to buy a trailer, used one, can you guys tell me the cost and were can i get it, also let me know what do you think of this idea?

the other option will be to pay a bit more for the 1998 30 marlin and do the same thing, what do you think are the pros and cons of this?

regards

You did not mention the year of the Marlin. I would check with a GW dealer of Grady to check if the stern can handle the torque of the 4 strokes. Some of the older hulls were not designed for the torque and weight of the newer 4 strokes.

Canche: Since you write that it is a Marlin 280 (not 300) that implies that the running bottom doesn't extend all the way to the transom. Extending the running bottom is a change Grady made to accommodate the F225/F250s (and renamed it the 300). I'd call the factory. They're good folks. But I suspect they will say that the transom isn't made for the four strokes and that perhaps, the scuppers would be below the water line.
