Q: can i get some comparitive performance #'s from members with same set up?
Boat n engines: 2002 282 Sailfish with F225's (15.25x19 pitch SS yami props), usually loaded with 4 people, gear and fuel

i usually cruise at 4000 rpm burning 16-18 gal/hr and GPS says 26.3-27.5 knots
WOT at 5400 rpm i get 36-37 knots.

Wondering if the cruise is normal and if the speed at WOT is a bit low.

I run the same setup as you have on same year boat and engine. My WOT are 5600 with motor trimmed up speed is 46mph. I normally cruise at 3600 to 3900 RPM's at between 24 to 30 knots. My normal load is 2 people plus gear with 3/4 fuel load. I generally keep the 150 gal tank topped off and run on the 70 gal tank. Fuel burn is 13 gph at the low rpms and 15 to 16 gph at the high end near 4000 rpm's although I rarely push it that high. Average MPg is 1.7 to 2.0 my best mpg is at 3700 rpm's doing about 28 kts.
My boat had 15.5 x 17 props when I bought it and I changed the props to the 15.25 x 19 as you have and my mpgs improved. With the 15.5 x 17 wheels the top RPM's were 6100 which is why I went with the 19" pitch wheels . I did not want to hit the rev limiter on the motors.
My impression is that this setup is sensitive to loading and persons on board. When we load the boat for our Bahamas trips in the summer I can see an increase in fuel consumption and a loss of speed of 2 to 3 knots on our crossing over full of fuel, food, beer and all the stuff we pack for a two week stay. Fuel and speed always improve on the return trip.
I think you are in the ballpark with the numbers you posted. Good luck the 282 is a great boat.

I run a 2006 Sailfish with F225 Yamis. I usually cruise at about 3900 rpm which is about 28-29mph by GPS. I usually get 1.5mpg top, occasionally I hit 1.6mpg. With near full fuel (200g) I hit 1.4mpg. Top end is about 5600 rpm and 42mph.

I usually cruise at the optimal mpg and rarely go any faster. I have SWS props, not sure the size.

The 19' props are too much for that setup. You want the 4 strokes to turn close to 6000 rpm, 5400 wot rpm is too low putting added loads on the motors which is not good. I had 19' props but dropped to 17'. What i did was to bring the 17' props to my local prop shop an they added a little more cup. This lowered my rpm to 5800 rpm but i get better overall economy and performance. Call grady white and ask them the proper prop for that setup. I bet they will say 17".
