Hello gents,

I am considering a 300 Marlin with 250 OX66's. Boat usage will be relatively limited in next 1-2 years so I know I will be logging less hours than my usual 150 per year. I plan on either repowering with 4strokes in 2 years after purchase. I am however scared of the fuel burn with 250 OX66's on this beast. I found the attached Grady performance link but based on my extensive boating experience these numbers seem extremely optimistic. WHat kind of fuel burn are you Marlin Owners seeing with these motors?

Are you really doing better than 1 Mpg in normal conditions?

Prior to my current re power My 2000 Marlin300 had the same motors. I logged over 900 nautical miles from its purchase Last August until the boat was pulled in early November. The best I could get get in mpg with half tank of fuel (150 gal.) and 4 persons on board was 1.1 at 28 mph. Loaded with full tanks ( 306 gal.) and ice for fishing would be .9 mpg.

I just re powered with Evinrude G2's so i expect this to dramatically improve.
