I was wondering how much anchor rode most have in the anchor locker of the 330? I carry 200' of 5/8" 8-plait and 20' of 5/16 HT chain. I am replacing my rode and was wondering if 250-300 feet would be too much when recovering with the Lewmar 1000. Does anyone have more rode in the 330? Any problems with pile up and jamming when recovering long lengths? Any recommendations for quality line? Differences in Lewmar brand versus those such as Defender? Thanks for any advice.

When I purchased my 2006 330 five years ago, it had something like 300 feet of chain plus another 300 feet or so of heavy three strand anchor line. It was way overkill for my needs and very heavy to carry around. Since I anchor out only once or twice a year, I reduced the anchor chain to 60 feet. Works great with my Fortress FX-16. I read somewhere that you want your anchor chain to be at least equal to the waterline of your boat. More is always better but in my case, there is a limit to that rule. Good luck!

30' chain (length of boat) and 300' of line. Works for almost everything I need it for.
