Hi Guys
just bought a 330 express for salmon fishing on the west coast of B.C. has anyone put a 9.9 or 15 hp kicker on their 330? How does the 9.9 or the 15 perform while fishing?
Any advice will help.

I assume you already have twin engines, if so, not sure why you want a kicker.

9.9 should be fine. Get a high thrust model and go for remote steering. Gradys ride low aft so the less weight on the transom the better. I've used the 9.9 on my Marlin in an emergency and it got me home at about 5 knots at 80% throttle.

For those on the east coast, salmon fishing on the west coast involves a very slow troll of 1.5-2.5 knots.

I am pretty sure you can get that slow of a speed with only one motor, i had that boat with 250's though and i know is a heavy boat. I will try with my current boat to see how slow i can get.

Thanks for the input.....finding out that the 9.9 has the extended leg and thrust prop and the 15 doesn't have that, might not have a choice in the matter.....
