I have a 2004 and when I bought the boat in 2021, the Original Fischer panda 4.2kw diesel gen was Dead. I removed it and took it to a diesel shop and they said it was not worth saving. After asking all over the place for years, the consensus was that a next gen 3.5kw (UCM1-3.5) would be a good fit.... and easier to get parts for with it's kubota engine.
I finally found a lightly used 2014 model with 350ish hours on it. I got water to it, used a jump pack and can of diesel and tested it at my shop and all good.
Here are some pics of the install. I see a LOT of posts here and over on THT of the original Fischer Panda's being unreliable or just too hard to get parts for.
It's definitely a lower wider/longer generator than the fischer but I can confirm it fits. had to move the diesel tank a little and relocate the raw wate pump for the AC. It's finally in now and as soon as I launch, I'll test it. I may connect a hose to it and test on the hard but I alreay know it runs.
