I'm looking at moving up to a 33 Express with F250's. I was wondering if anyone has any performance and fuel burn numbers for this engine package. Thanks

I repowered my 330 from 225s to 250s. I ran it yesterday and got about 1.2 miles per gallon at 27 miles per hour full of fuel. My marina switched to ethanol free and I have seen a big pick up in speed (3 knots) and an increase in efficency.
You can go to the Grady web site to see the performance report of a 33 with 250's. Great boat I have one with 225's
I have found my real world numbers to be similar to those above. On the high side I see 1.2 sometimes tickling 1.3 more often down to 1.1. There has been much discussion that the 225's offer nearly identical performance (except for absolute top end) and better efficiency. I cruise at just about 30 mph.
Here is a Yamaha Performance report with F225's on a 33. According to the test report with 250's there is only .8mph difference in top speed. and the 225's get 2.1 mpg better fuel economy.

Do those of you w Express 330 and Yamaha 225s achieve 1.2 mpg and if so at what cruising speed. And do you reach 41 mph. What props do you have. Thanks!!
Boy - I really need to look at my props - I have F225's on my 265Express and I am only seeing 1.4MPG - I would think being substantially lighter I should be get substantially better milage...

I am using the fmm to get the mpg's but some real rough math has that about right. At 28-30mph I am about 21gph. I know I am not propped right, but this has just life a fire under me!mronzo said:

I have a 2006 330 with late 2006 F250s and 1,100 hours. Great boat. Get about 1.1 to 1 gal when heading offshore canyon fishing - fully loaded, people, full tanks, water etc. Average trip to canyon 60 miles (burning 29 gph at 4800 rpms and 29-30 cruise) and trolling all day (burning 3.8 gph) and then returning home burns about 150-160 gallons of fuel. With fuel prices at dock at $3.89 per gal yesterday, that’s roughly $600-650 per trip. We absolutely love our boat and it rides very well with no slamming like we would occasionally get with my 2000 272 Sailfish I sold in 2012. Having generator and air conditioning is a huge bonus!!!
