Anyone running 4 blade props on their 33 express ?

Running the standard factory 3 blades right now of F250 four strokes

Do a lot of canyon fishing so heavy laods. Really only care about the cruise numbers between 4200-5000

Speed in mph and gph for certain rpms

Only get on plane a few times over 40 hour trips but have 5 hour runs all the time.

Thanks in advance

I do the same type of fishing as you do. Fish out of OCMD and run to canyons inshore lumps and troll or chunk all day. We usually have full tank and lots of gear. On nice day, we get around 26-30 MPG on cruise of 24-26 knots. Would love to see if 4 blade prop would make a difference. We have twin 250 yams.

At home sick and my fever seems to be affecting my vision. Ya that was a typo!

I have a 2007 33 with the f250's and run out of townsend inlet.. With full load running at 4600rpm where at 30 MPH burning
26 GPH with the three blades. I hear that with the four blades you loose some top end but they really help in a following sea getting up on plane.

I run Mercury Revolution 4 blades on my 33 express. They are great props. In rough and following seas there is no cavitation. I run my boat with a heavy load
most of the time. This past year I repowered to the new F300's from the F225's. It was like getting a new boat. My top speed with the 300's and 4 blade props is around 43 MPH. I didnt even try it with the 3 blades so I dont know if there is much loss in top end. On the F225's I lost a couple of MPH top end
but my cruise I picked up a little. One thing I do notice with the 4 blades is there is more stern lift and I can stay on plane at lower RPM's.

What is your cruise speed and the Rpm and gph at that speed with the 300s and the 4 blades

I can do 4200 RPM, 29MPH and burn around 26GPH that is around 1.1MPG.
Going to Abaco's this past summer with a full load of fuel and 7 POB and LOTS of gear I was running 4400 RPM ,getting 32MPH and Burn of 29.8 GPH.
If I push it to over 5k RPM they get real thirsty. WOT I burn around 52GPH low 40MPH . My average has been around 1MPG . I figure a 200 mile trip I will burn around 200 gallons. I dont adjust my speed by fuel burn I run as conditions permit. If you look at the performance numbers of the 330 on the Grady site I am pretty close to what it has on there for the 300"s.
The 330 with 225's and 250's is not much difference. The 300's make it act like a different boat.

Awesome info. 99% sure doing a repower this winter. Love the power of those engines. Also love having warranties.

So I know the standard 3 blade props they recommend

What are the exact 4 blades you running ?

The props are Mercury Revolution that were repitched form 17" down to 15" pitch. These are the same ones I had on the F225's. I haven't even tried my 3 blade props. I just have them for spares. So I dont know even know what they will do.
