does anybody know if/when grady white changed the transom or hull design to accomodate the weight of the 4 stroke engines?

Will a 2003 222 fisherman sit with the scuppers below water or take on water through the scuppers with a yam 225 4-stroke?

Yamaha 225 two stroke ranges from 522 to 534 lbs. The four stroke is 583 lbs. - about fifty to sixty pounds heavier. Probably has the same impact as two passengers sitting the transom seats. Definitely call your Grady White dealer and inquire on their recommendation.

Do you have any water problems on the deck now when you stand back there? If yes, under what circumstances? This is all that matters, not where the transom scuppers sit relative to water line.

If you want to sea trial the difference, double or triple the weight difference with 50 lb play sand bags, get the clear bag ones at Home Depot, $4.00 ea. Place them on the floor stacked in the middle as far back as possible.

When you are done with the bags, take them back for a refund or cut them open, and over the side.

So for free or at the most $12.00, you can find out first hand.

If you are satisfied and don't want less power than you have now, you may want to consider the F250 to make up for the hole shot of the 2 stroke 225.
