I have the above mentioned boat, I'm getting ready to go on vacation with it after my maiden voyage last weekend when I finally finished rigging my motor. I know the two fish boxes under the steps tie into a tee and drain out the sides of the hull with the front cockpit drains, but through experiments with a hose, the flush storage box in the front of the cockpit drains into the bilge. What is the purpose of this box? Is it supposed to drain into the bilge? Should I plug it when out in rough water? Am I over analyzing things? I tries to download the owner's manual and brochure for my year boat, but my anti=virus said the pdf had a virus and was rejected. Thanks for helping a G/W :noob

My dad had the same boat. We simply used it for storage because it was not insulated.
Placing a plug won't do much good to prevent water intrusion. If you have water coming up through that hole you have serious problems!

If you want to prevent water from ever getting to that point, plug the drain at the gas tank bulk head from the bilge. There should be 2 holes in the bulk head. One for draining water from the gas tank compartment; the other for the floor box in question. I know this because my dad bought the boat with an 8' x 2' hole in the hull!

We miss that storage on our Voyager. Grady saved that area for another gas tank that we don't have or need.
