The hot lead for the livewell/washdown pump has gone bad on my '89 Sailfish, and it looks like it will be impossible to pull a new wire attached to the old one. Has anyone rewired the livewell pump, and if so, how did you run the new wire? If not, any suggestions? Thanks.

Check the voltages and connections at the helm first. Work back from the output of the switch to eliminate a bad switch, breaker , fuse or buss bar connection.
When checking the voltage at the pump end, make sure you measure using a known good ground. If the ground is bad, you might have voltage at the pump but the pump wont work.
Although wire failures are uncommon they do happen but bad connections, grounds, etc are much more common.
