Can anyone tell me what is under the monkey fur headliner in the cabin of a `94 Sailfish?? When I push on it right behind front cabin windows it feels like it`s all broken and brittle under there. Hopefully it`s just some plastic liner and not wood!!
Thanks

I know it’s a 6 year old thread, but in case it’s useful for anyone else working on headliners of older boats.....

In my Adventure 208 of similar vintage the “crackling” under the headliner carpet is the adhesive. It Is quite brittle. I peeled mine back from the port window which clearly had leaked for a prior owner. At some point I need to decide on cleaning/reapplying vs replacing- more likely the former given the age of the boat and my high tolerance for cosmetic defects in the little used cuddy.
