Anyone know how the rear seatback on a '95 Islander is installed?
Is it the same as the bolsters20231209_133355[7611].jpg20231209_133347[7610].jpg? See Pics.

Mine lifts straight up. Run something along the bottom edge (bent piece of sheet metal) to look for snaps.

Companion seat is the same too but it has snaps

Are you referring to the "Passenger Seat" when you say "Companion""
Mine was held in with screws/bolts............

Yes. I have a wraparound passenger seat.
As I stated above, mine was installed w/ screws/bolts.
I'll be looking for snaps on the bottom of my rear seatback tomorrow, thanks.
It moved only slightly when I tried lifting it straight up.

If to look at the seat back you can see two snaps - one inthe right corner and one next to the left hinge. The backrest was redone and snaps eliminated.

Thanks for the reply & pic.
Looks like your seatback was lower than mine, my seatback doesn't go below the hinges like yours.
Still going to check for the snaps.

Mine was installed w/ 1/4-20 through bolts & fender washers.
Not sure if this was from the factory, not too pretty...

Mine was factory. Apparently earlier versions were not as elegant. Good luck
