So I've figured out my aux tank sender is junk.

I removed it through the 6" access hole and have ordered a 14" Wema replacement. I'm hoping to put the replacement in without pulling the deck section up. Any pointers are appreciated !

Don't drop any tools in the hole.

Other than that, it's pretty straight forward. Clean the area, install new one. Did you cover the hole for the time being? You don't want to chance any water getting in there (which can happen through condensation, too). Best/easiest thing is to keep the old unit in place.

The mounting screw holes are not evenly spaced. Check that all the holes line up. Sealant is not normally needed. Do not over tighten the screws. Clean your ground wires if they look iffy.

I did this last year on my 232 - easy without lifting the cover. When you pull the old sender out let it fully drain before fully extracting it. It holds quite a bit of fuel. Also, I do suggest getting new 10-32 screws with sealing washers instead of re-using the OEM screws. I got something like this and it worked perfectly:

You can get the screws directly from WEMA. Surprised they did not ask. Clean ALL electrical connections prior to install and used liquid electric tape where possible to prevent future corrosion.

WEMA sender came with new gasket screws and washers. It was a little frustrating lining it up through the little hatch. I found 6 penny nails to be good place holder to get aligned and mark the position.
