I've looked at a 99 Sailfish with Twin 225 OX 66"s, original Raytheon Radar,GPS, autopilot, hydraulic steering, bow pulpit w/elec windlass, inverter, and an EZload trailer. Boat looks very well kept, but has not been in the water for four years. Owner states only 125 hours on boat/ engines. Can anyone recommend a good surveyor in the Boston area? Anything to look out for?
Thanks in advance- I know you see these type posts frequently.

Can't recommend anyone but motors are meant to run and storing them for long periods without turning them over once in awhile could pose problems. Did the owner run them now and them? My sailfish has 225 OX66 engines and the run great. Just need to change filters and low pressure fuel pumps and clean o2 sensors. I would be worried about the fuel in the tanks as well. Boats are supposed to be stored with fuel tanks topped off. Lots of questions.

My advice and this is based on my personal experience is, and this is if the bank doesn't require a survey, is to hire an experienced and reputable fiberglass/structural guy and an experienced and trained Yamaha guy. The surveyors are too generic, don't get deep enough into the small things that turn into big things a year or two down the road. I live in the eastern mass/north shore area so if you want to talk drop me a PM and I'll send you my number.
