Hi folks,

I'm a happy (and first time) Grady White 265 yr 2000 express owner. I bought the one that was listed on ebay about a month back...picked her up for 32K + 2K delivery. Had to put about 4K into the engines (2x200HPDI's) but we're in good shape now.

Since fishing is now a non-issue down here on the FL panhandle, we're relegated to cruising the intercoastal. As such, I'd like to get AC on this boat.

I have snooped in most of the comparments for space, looks like there's some behind the fridge, as well as behind the drawers in the berth. I'm sure there's space elsewhere...

I'd like to hear from the other 265 owners out there with AC. What unit do you have and where is it located? I'm thinking of going with a DC 5-6K BTU unit... Boat has 3 batteries and no inverter. Obviously I won't get much time on AC with the batteries, but I'd like to have the option of running it, even for a short time. With a portable gen, may be able to run it via the charger...

So, what you got and where is it?

Many thanks.

What a great boat. I'm in love...

Phil

The MarineAir CuddyCool DC unit will give you 8 hours run time on 3 Group 27 batts...BBUUTT, they need to be dedicated to the unit. Which means you need 3 more batts...

Phil,
What kind of room do you have beneath the v-berth? You also need to consider the t/hull pickup location, strainer location, pump location, and where your going to install those 3 batts...

Takes some planning...
