Adding a Third Battery

I'd like to add a third battery to my 2004 247 Advance. This third battery would serve as the "house" battery and collect a charge from the engine alternators in the same manner as my current two batteries. I like the idea of not running the radio, etc. off of batteries my engines are dependent on.

My set up is currently stock, with two battery switches (1,2, both, off) located in the transom. Being able to utilize this battery to start an engine would be nice, but not necessary.

I'm not particularly well versed in boat electronics so I'm reaching out for any insight or direction towards resources that may help. Perhaps this is too big of job for a marine electronics newby? I'm not against hiring someone to do this, I just like to tackle things myself (if wise) and understand better how they work afterwards.

You will need to consider how you will charge the separate House. You will need Aux charging wires from your motors or a pair of ACRs. Look at the Blue Seas site as they have several diagrams of twin outboard configurations.
